About this product
Close the low gaps small animals get through.
Ten snap-together wire panels, 3.3m per pack, hammered straight into the ground. No posts, no digging.
Cats, small dogs and other small visitors do not need much of a gap. This fence closes the low ones along a path, around a lawn or veg patch, or under an existing fence.
Each panel is thick welded wire with a baked paint finish, so it resists rust and holds its shape outside. The panels clip together, so you can run straight, turn a corner or follow a curve, and move it later if the garden changes. One pack covers 3.3m. Need more? Packs join the same way.
The gap under a fence, the open end of a path, the low edge of a veg patch. Small animals find every one of them. These panels close the gaps without you building a fence.
Each panel is thick welded wire with a baked paint finish, so it resists rust and keeps its shape outside. Hammer it into the ground, snap the next panel on, and keep going. Ten panels cover 3.3m.
Because the panels clip and unclip, nothing is permanent. Run a straight line along a path today, wrap it round a new bed next spring, and lift it when the seedlings are big enough to fend for themselves.

Closing the low gaps small animals use to get into a garden, or out of one. Run it along a path edge, around a lawn or veg patch, or along the bottom of an existing fence. It keeps the neighbour's cat out of your seedlings and keeps a small dog in.
Will it stop my dog or cat?
It is made for small animals and low gaps. Check the panel size against your animal before you order. A big dog that can clear a low barrier will treat this as a suggestion. It is a garden barrier, not a guaranteed way to contain an animal.
How much do I get in a pack?
10 panels that snap together to cover 3.3m. Measure your run and allow for corners. For a longer run, order two or more packs. They join the same way.
How do I install it?
Lay out your line, then hammer each panel into the ground. The panels interlock with a snap as you go. No posts, no concrete, no digging, and nothing a landscaper needs to do for you.
Can I shape it around curves and corners?
Yes. Each panel clips to the next, so you can run a straight line, turn a corner or follow a curved bed. Unclip and move it if the garden changes.
Can I use it with my existing fence?
Yes. Hammer it in along the base of the fence to close the gap underneath. That is the usual spot small animals squeeze through.
What is it made of?
Thick welded metal wire with a baked paint finish. The paint helps it resist rust and the welded wire holds its shape, so it is made for living outside year round.
How much does it cost?
$139 per 10 pack (3.3m long). Delivery is free once your order is $60 or more, so a single pack qualifies.
Are there other sizes or options?
One pack size is listed. If your run is longer than 3.3m, add more packs. They join the same way.
What do the photos show?
The fence in use, so you can judge the look. Plants, pots and garden props are not included. Read the specifications for exactly what arrives.
Which specs should I check before I buy?
Pack size (10 panels), coverage (3.3m) and the material (welded wire with a painted finish). Then check the panel height against the animal you want to stop. If anything is unclear, ask us first.
How do I work out how many packs I need?
Measure the length of the gap or edge. Divide by 3.3 and round up. Allow a little extra for corners and curves, then check your basket before paying.
Can I order more than one pack?
Yes. Set the quantity on this page or change it in your basket.
Will it suit every garden?
It suits most soft ground. Hard or stony ground makes hammering harder, so prepare the area first. If you are unsure, send us a photo and your measurements before you order.
How should I prepare the ground?
Mark your line, clear loose stones and debris, and check for buried pipes or cables before you hammer anything in.
Any safety tips while fitting it?
Wear gloves and sturdy footwear, keep kids and pets clear while you hammer, and mind the wire ends.
What if the ground is hard or stony?
Loosen the spot first rather than forcing the panel. Stop if a panel bends or will not sit firm.
Can I use it as a pool fence or a retaining barrier?
No. This is a garden product. It is not a pool barrier, not load bearing and not a guaranteed way to contain an animal.
How do I look after it?
Knock off soil and debris now and then, and check the panels are still clipped together and sitting firm. That is about it.
Can I check it will suit my garden before I buy?
Yes. Send us the measurements, a photo of the spot and the animal you want to stop, and we will tell you straight whether this is the right fence.
Is the price in New Zealand dollars?
Yes. Every price and checkout total is in NZD.
What does delivery cost?
Free when your goods total after any discount is $60 or more. Under that, delivery is a flat $22. One pack clears the free delivery line on its own.
How long does delivery take?
Allow 24-48 hours for us to pack it, then an estimated 5-7 days in transit. These are estimates, not a promised arrival date.
Can I use the valued-customer code?
Yes. It takes 15% off the goods. Delivery is not discounted, and free delivery is worked out on the discounted goods total.
How do I track my order?
Use the Order Tracking page with the details we send after dispatch. If anything looks stuck, email us with your order reference.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
Yes, within 15 days of receipt, as long as it is unused and in original resaleable condition with proof of purchase. A $59 restocking fee and return postage apply to eligible change-of-mind returns. Your statutory rights are separate.
What if it arrives damaged or wrong?
Email us with your order reference and a couple of photos. The change-of-mind fee does not apply to faulty, damaged or incorrect goods, and your Consumer Guarantees Act rights are unaffected.
Can I cancel before it ships?
Contact us as soon as you can. The voluntary cancellation policy allows requests within 12 hours before shipment and provides for a 12.5% processing fee. Statutory remedies are unaffected.
I need a lot of fencing. Can you help?
Yes. Use the wholesale enquiry page and tell us the products, quantities and your delivery postcode.
Where do I get help?
Email theteam@customersupport.care or use the Contact page. Include the product name and your question, plus your order reference if you have one.
The complete guide
Animal barrier fence: the complete guide
3 min readLawnEdge New Zealand
Most garden fences stop a person. They do not stop a cat, a small dog or a rabbit, because those go under, not over. This barrier is made for the low gaps. It is a set of welded wire panels you hammer in along a line to close the space small animals use.
Sizes and specifications
10 panels per pack, covering 3.3m when joined
Thick welded metal wire with a baked paint finish
Panels snap together and come apart again
Hammered straight into the ground, no posts
Panel height is not listed on this page. If the animal you are stopping is a jumper, ask us before you order.
How to fit it
Mark your line and clear loose stones and weeds along it.
Check for shallow pipes or cables before you hammer anything in.
Stand the first panel on the line and tap it into the ground with a rubber mallet until it sits firm.
Snap the next panel onto the first and tap that in. Carry on along the line.
To close the gap under an existing fence, run the panels along its base so the bottom wire sits at ground level.
Where it works
Along a path edge to keep a dog off the beds. Around a veg patch to keep the neighbour's cat out of the seedlings. Along the base of a fence where something has been squeezing through. Around a lawn as a low, tidy border that happens to stop animals too.
It bends round corners and gentle curves because every joint is a clip, not a weld. Unclip and move it when the garden changes.
Is it right for the job?
It is for small animals and low gaps. A big dog that can clear a low barrier will treat this as a suggestion. It is not a pool fence, not a retaining edge and not a guaranteed way to contain an animal. If you want a clean lawn edge rather than a barrier, look at the black steel edging or the flexible plastic edging instead.
Looking after it
Knock off soil now and then and check the panels are still clipped together and sitting firm after a storm. Straighten any panel that has been knocked. That is the whole job.
